Emme ForumModel City 2011 is INRO's feature users' conference, a gathering of the world's leading transport planners and modellers to share knowledge, applications, and critical perspective, and hear about the latest innovations and methodological developments from INRO.

Special guests include Peter Vovsha, Principal at Parsons Brinckerhoff, and Moshe E. Ben-Akiva, MIT's Edmund K. Turner Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering and Director of the Intelligent Transportation Systems Program.
The Conference will be held at the Cascade Crest Banquet Center at Metro's Oregon Zoo, nestled in the urban forest of Washington Park, 12 minutes ride on the MAX light rail from Portland's downtown. Founded in the 1880s, the Oregon Zoo attracts more than 1 million visitors per year. Accommodations are at the Hilton Portland and Executive Tower.
Conference activities include a walking tour of Portland's South Waterfront District, the Conference Banquet at Portland's World Trade Center, and Friday Pub Night at Widmer Borthers Brewery. South Waterfront is Portland's newest great neighborhood, designed to balance residential and retail development with cutting-edge, sustainable transportation options. Come walk the streets and ride the Portland Aerial Tram for a view of the city and the ongoing construction of the Portland-Milwaukie Bridge that will be the first in the United States to carry light rail trains, buses, cyclists and pedestrians and, in the future, streetcars.

The Emme Users' Conference series of international and regional meetings, jointly organized by INRO and leading planning agencies around the world, provides opportunities for the world's planners and modellers to share knowledge, applications and critical perspective, as well as updates on INRO software and methodological developments. The presentations from more than 100 meetings over 20 years, compiled in the freely accessible INRO Library, form a unique transport planning knowledge base with detailed case studies of modeling applications.
